Arrival

It was a long trip to Denmark, with lots of bumps along the way, but we made it.

Everyone was getting tired and hang ups like the rental car (the one reserved was broken so we downgraded, but ended up getting a cheaper deal on a vehicle that still suited our needs – shifting into reverse in a French model is an ordeal.)

Then we arrived.

These summer houses are absolutely perfect.  As I write this, I’m laying in my own room with an entire wall made of glass that leads to a porch and looks out at the water and dunes.  Really?  Claes and Cristine met us here as we arrived, which was a wonderful surprise.  They brought us towels and sheets from Farmor, of which I am using now and loving.  Everything is very cozy.

Dinner at Farmor’s was just what we needed after 22 hours of traveling.  Fleskestey, potatos, cabbage, cucumbers, and Farmor’s famous gravy.  Oh, and beer courtesy of Claes.  Absolutely fantastic.

The skies have been grey since we rolled into Tornby, but I’m looking forward to a full nights sleep lulled by the rain.  I’ll dream of walking out that glass door and walking along the North Sea all night long.
